Dive into the heart of Andalusia
With a population of 83,000, Chiclana de la Frontera has become the tourist epicentre of Cádiz, partly because of the spectacular fine-sand Playa de la Barrosa, which stretches for more than 8 km.
Along with its gorgeous surroundings, the coast and the inland areas stand out for their health resorts and spas, exquisite seafood restaurants, wineries to taste the emblematic Andalusian “fino” sherry, cultural centres and exhibits, not to mention its sports facilities, including our Club, a regional point of reference.
OUR SUGGESTIONS Can’t-miss spots
Playa de La Barrosa
A golden, fine-sand beach stretching 8 km over two areas: 1) the Seaside Promenade, with a wide variety of tourist attractions; and 2) the environmentally valuable area where pine trees and dunes give the appearance of an unspoilt beach.
Playa de Sancti Petri
This 2-km, environmentally valuable beach has two parts. One stretches from the Laja Bermeja rocky outcrop to the point of La Barrosa beach. The other stretches from the point to the former hamlet of Sancti Petri.
Sancti Petri Castle
Located on an island at the mouth of the Caño de Sancti Petri channel, this castle is historically tied to an observatory that was well known in classical antiquity: the Melqart-Hercules Temple.
Route of 7 Magic Points
A can’t-miss path offering great views of the city from different gorgeous viewpoints with historical value.
OUR ECOSYSTEMNatural bird observatory
Our location sits right on the path of a wide variety of migratory birds and we are home to a range of wildlife, which enhances the sporting experience.
To bring our visitors closer to this natural beauty, we have created two guides to the local surroundings: its lakes, pine forests, mastic trees and protected species like the northern bald ibis, the Eurasian coot, the partridge or the small owl. Each of these guides describes the biosphere of our courses and their holes, which are named after the local wildlife.
